Workplace Harassment Complaint Submitted Against Naugatuck BOE Administrative Staff
The complaint accuses employers of verbal abuse and even threats of violence.

The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 1818 submitted a grievance on Oct. 9 against all administrative staff at the Tuttle House Board of Education building alleging workplace harassment, the Republican-American reports.
Jim Healy, President of Local 1818 told the paper he had brought the complaint to Tuttle House and if they were not able to work out the issues, he would have to file the complaint.
According to the paper, the complaint alleges the employer is failing to provide a safe and harassment free workplace saying verbal abuse and threats of violence are common in the workplace. The complaint also says the employer has refused to address the issues.

In the grievance, AFSCME Local 1818 has asked for policies to be instituted that would create a procedure to allow employees to report incidents that would be investigated, the paper reports.
The issues among Tuttle House employees became public in April, when a clerical worker filed a lawsuit saying her co-workers went through her personal information stored on her computer.
