17-Year-Old With Marijuana, Bong Issued Summons In New Canaan: Cops

The incident occurred on Main Street on Aug. 24.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 17-year-old Trumbull youth was issued a juvenile summons on charges of marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession on Aug. 24 following a motor vehicle stop on Main Street in New Canaan, according to police.

The teen, whose identity was not released due his age, was pulled over just after 6 p.m., said police, because his vehicle had an "excessively loud" muffler and tinted windows that lacked a Department of Motor Vehicle inspection sticker.

"A motor vehicle stop was conducted and upon approaching the vehicle and speaking with the male 17-year-old juvenile the officer detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle," wrote New Canaan police in a statement. "A subsequent investigation resulted in the discovery of a bong with marijuana residue and marijuana in a pill bottle."
