2 Arrested On DUI Charges In New Canaan: Police

Both arrests occurred this week, one of them was on a warrant in connection with a past incident.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Two New Canaan residents were arrested on a charge of driving under the influence in separate incidents in the past week, according to New Canaan police.

In the first incident, Adam Dunn, 47, of Tobys Lane, was pulled over northbound on Old Stamford Road, just after midnight on March 6, after an officer clocked him driving 51 miles per hour in a 40 mph zone.

While speaking to Dunn, "the officer detected signs of impairment" and had Dunn perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he failed, according to authorities.

He was taken into custody, and at police headquarters his blood alcohol content test reading was .127, police said.

Dunn was charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence and was released after posting a $250 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on March 19.

The second case involved a warrant arrest of a suspect from an October 2018 motor vehicle crash.

Just after 6 a.m. on March 8, an officer pulled over a vehicle on South Avenue after discovering - through a reading of the license plate - that there was an active warrant for the vehicle's owner.

Jennifer Kulowiec, 37, of Forest Street, was the vehicle's owner, but she was a passenger when the vehicle was pulled over.

"The warrant was from a [motor vehicle] crash on 10/01/18 that occurred at New Norwalk Road and Carter Street in which blood results determined that Kulowiec was in violation of the above charges," stated New Canaan police.

Kulowiec was taken into custody and charged with illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence and failure to drive upon the right.

She was released on written promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on March 22.
