2 Vehicles Stolen In New Canaan: Police
Police said one of the vehicles was later found in another town, however the other has not been located at this time.
NEW CANAAN, CT — A 2012 Nissan Altima and a 2020 McLaren GT were recently reported stolen in New Canaan, according to police.
In a news release, Chief of Police Leon Krolikowski said the Altima was reported stolen from a Locust Avenue home Friday morning. According to the owner, the vehicle last parked in front of the home around 2 a.m.
Krolikowski said the owner thought the vehicle was locked, however the keys were left inside the vehicle. The owner's wallet was also left inside the vehicle at the time it was stolen and contained a driver's license, $10,000 in cash and credit cards.

A secondary cell phone was also left inside the vehicle, and the owner was able to track the vehicle's location to Bridgeport using a "find my iPhone" app. The following day, Bridgeport police reported the stolen vehicle was found in their city with three flat tires and other damages, Krolikowski said.
The McLaren GT was reported stolen Saturday night from a Woodridge Drive residence. According to Krolikowski, the vehicle was parked inside a four-car garage, however one of the garage doors had been left open while the vehicle was unlocked with the keys inside.

Bose headphones valued at $1,200 and Dave Clark headphones valued at $300 were left inside the vehicle, which Krolikowski said has not been located as of Monday morning.
Police urge residents to always lock their vehicles and take keys with them, to secure valuables and never leave valuables in a vehicle. According to Krolikowski, identity theft often occurs when driver's licenses and credit cards are stolen.
