Aladdin Jr. Coming To Saxe!

Saxe Middle School presents their 5th & 6th Grade Musical - Aladdin Jr.

Take a Magic Carpet ride to A Whole New World! Saxe Middle School presents the fall 5th and 6th grade musical, Disney’s Aladdin Jr. Performance dates are Friday, November 10th at 7pm and Saturday, November 11th at 11am and 2pm. All performances will take place in the brand new Saxe Middle School Theater.

The show features entertainment for the whole family and an Academy Award-winning score by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, with classic songs like “A Whole New World” and “Friend Like Me.”

The plot revolves around Princess Jasmine and the pressure she has on her to choose a husband. The magic Genie shows Aladdin how a “Friend Like Me” can help him win the love of Princess Jasmine as the “Arabian Nights” pass. This musical journey, based on the classic Disney movie, will take you on a magic carpet ride of delight and adventure.

Under the direction and choreography of Lauren Nicole Sherwood, along with Joe Gergle, Musical Director and Matt Blank, Stage Manager and Assistant Director, audiences will sing and dance and get “One Jump Ahead” for a fall of magnificent fun.

More than 90 students have dedicated three afternoons per week to practice their singing, dancing and line memorization. Students also volunteered as stage crew, under the direction of Anthony Medaglia, and have been working tirelessly to transform the new middle school theater into the Arabian Kingdom–Agrabah–a city of mystery and enchantment.
