New Canaan, AAA Offer Mature Driving Classes

The New Canaan Police Department will host a free AAA Driving Improvement Class for mature drivers Saturday Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 22.

Classes will take place 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on both days at the 170 South Avenue police headquarters. The class will be taught by two New Canaan Police Officers certified as AAA Driving Improvement Program instructors.

The AAA program is aimed at experienced drivers who wish to improve their driving skills and review the basics of defensive driving. By completing the class, drivers 60 years of age and older in Connecticut qualify for a minimum 5% discount on their auto insurance. Participants will receive a certificate to present to their insurance carrier.
