Assault Charge Leveled After Altercation: New Canaan Police
The incident occurred on March 4.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 34-year-old New Canaan woman was arrested on Sunday on charges of third-degree assault and disorderly conduct following an incident on Jelliff Mill Road, according to police.
The victim of the assault filed a complaint with New Canaan police at about 7:41 p.m., which led to the arrest of local resident Mellissa A. Berquist.
Police did not offer details of the altercation that resulted in the arrest, referring to it as a "domestic assault."

Berquist's bail was set at $2,500, and she was due to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on March 5.
