Beware Of IRS Scams, Warns New Canaan PD
With tax season in full swing, IRS scams are also prevalent.

NEW CANAAN, CT — With tax season in full swing, the New Canaan Police Department is again warning residents to be on the lookout for IRS scams, something that once even tried to bilk Police Chief Leon Krolikowski.
In the below post on the department's Twitter page, officials say to hang up as soon as the caller tries to intimidate you over the phone, particularly if the caller asks to be paid in iTunes gift cards.
Other tips for avoiding such scams include not giving out personal information to solicitors who contact you; never wire, send or give credit card information to make any type of payments to such callers; and avoid calling the scammers back.
