BOE Gives New Canaan School Superintendent Contract Extension

Bryan Luizzi will stay on for a longer period of time under the contract.

NEW CANAAN--The Board of Education approved a one-year contract extension for New Canaan Superintendent Bryan Luizzi.
Luizzi's contract will now run through 2019, according to the New Canaan Advertiser. It previously ran from 2015 to 2019.

Connecticut law only allows for three-year maximum contracts for superintendents.

Luizzi has more than 19 years of educational experience and started his career as an English teacher in Newtown. He then served in the Brookfield system and came to New Canaan as a principal.
