Refunds Available from Cablevision

Public Service Announcement

It may be of little consolation after all we have been through the past 10 days, but I want to encourage all of our residents who are Cablevision customers to contact Cablevision. I called the company today and inquired about their refund policy for customers who had no cable tv, phone and/or internet service during the storm last week. Sure enough, Cablevision will credit your account for services you did not receive because of the storm. 

Call 203 847 6666 and talk to a customer service representative. Give the representative the dates you were without service and they will verify the outage and credit your account on your next monthly statement. I received a $39.00 credit for my home service and a $30.00 credit for my business account.

On a final note, I want to thank all of our residents for their patience and perseverance during the storm and subsequent outage.  All of us in the Emergency Operations Center were as disappointed as you were in the progress CL&P made to get everyone up and running, but I can tell you, from the “inside”, this was a most devastating storm and the Town of New Canaan did everything in it’s power to make sure things returned to normal as quickly (and safely) as possible.
