Brookfield Woman Charged With DUI In New Canaan: Cops
The incident occurred late Tuesday night on Farm Road.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 29-year-old Brookfield woman was arrested Tuesday night on a charge of driving under the influence after she allegedly ran a stop sign on Farm Road at South School, according to New Canaan police.
Erin J. Hardie, of Candlewood Lake Road, was pulled over by police just after 11 p.m.
"A [motor vehicle stop] was conducted and upon speaking with Hardie (the operator) the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath," wrote New Canaan police in a statement. "[Standardized Field Sobriety Tests] were administered and subsequently failed by Hardie."

She was taken into custody but at police headquarters Hardie refused to submit to a breath test to measure her blood alcohol content.
Hardie was released after posting a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 14.
