Burglary Reported At New Canaan Historical Society

Police made an arrest in connection with the March 25 incident.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 32-year-old Orlando, Florida man was arrested on a charge of third-degree burglary Sunday after he allegedly broke into the New Canaan Historical Society building on Oenoke Ridge Road, according to New Canaan police.

Stenis Alexander Lowery allegedly tripped a burglar alarm at the facility just before 6:30 p.m., and a witness told police that they saw him walking out of the building.

Officers apprehended Lowery a short while later on Main Street, and at the time he was carrying an umbrella, a rock and a stick, according to police. How he allegedly broke into the building, and whether any items were taken, was not disclosed.

He was held in lieu of a $5,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court on Monday.
