Burglary Suspect Arrested By New Canaan Police
The accused allegedly twice broke into a business he used to work at back in early March.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A former employee of Embody Fitness in New Canaan has been arrested on a warrant in connection with a pair of March break-ins at the health food shop, according to New Canaan Police.
Stamford resident Samuel Marrero, 24, of Highview Avenue, surrendered to police early Thursday and was charged with two counts each of sixth-degree larceny and third-degree burglary.
"Based on video surveillance evidence Marrero, a former employee of Embody Fitness, is positively identified as the suspect inside the business taking money," wrote police in a statement.

Marrero is accused of taking $100 in a March 6 burglary, and taking $80 in a March 11 one. Police said he broke in during the early morning hours in both instances and used a key to get inside both times.
New Canaan police said he returned to the shop a third time during the early morning hours on March 25, at which time he was apprehended and released. That encounter led to detectives obtaining a warrant for his arrest.

Marrero's bail was set at $40,000 and he was scheduled to be arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court on Thursday.
