Lu Chekowsky is a writer and Emmy-award winning creative director. In her most recent job in the advertising industry, she was Lead Creative Director for Video at Facebook. Before that, she was the SVP of Brand Creative at Comedy Central, where she developed campaigns for shows like: The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, South Park, Nathan for You, and Broad City. Previously, she was VP, Creative Director at MTV, where she made ads for: Teen Wolf, The Jersey Shore, The Real World and the Video Music Awards. Before working in entertainment, Lu was a Creative Director and Copywriter at Wieden+Kennedy, where she oversaw work for brands such as: Jordan, Noxzema, Delta Airlines, and The National MS Society. She is a 2023 New York State Council on the Arts/New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow in Nonfiction Literature and her writing has been supported by: Mass MoCA, Vermont Studio Center, Craigardan, and Tin House. Her essays and poetry have been published in The Rumpus, Pigeon Pages, and Hobart, and her pieces about the cultural impacts of advertising have appeared in Ad Age and Muse by Clio. She lives in the Hudson Valley.

Natalie Ponte is the owner of Schmendrick's Bookshop. She earner her MFA at the NYU Low-Residency Writers Workshop in Paris. Before that, I spent about fifteen years in a variety of sales, marketing, and partnerships roles at companies like Meta and Google, and currently works at the audiobook platform Libro.fm. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, a menagerie of animals, and a couple of human boys. In her spare time she maintains a ranked database of made-for-TV holiday movies called the Christmas Curve, and dreams of one day writing the Great American Chanukah Film.
