Connecticut Woman Mauled By Pit Bull-Type Dog: Report
The attack occurred on Saturday, Sept. 2.

PLAINFIELD, CT — A 21-year-old Plainfield, CT woman required 45 stitches to her face on Saturday afternoon after she was attacked and injured by a pit bull-type dog while out for a walk, reports the Norwich Bulletin.
The dog lunged at Jade Santiago's chin while she and boyfriend Nicholas Guarneri, 23, were walking on South Walnut Street in the Wauregan section of Plainfield at about 4:45 p.m.
In addition to needing stitches to close the gash on her chin, Santiago also suffered defensive wounds while fighting off the dog. She was treated at the Backus Emergency Care Center.

Authorities are looking for the animal and urge the public to be on the lookout for the gray-colored dog, and if spotted, contact the Plainfield Police Department at 860-564-0804.
