Domestic dispute in parking lot leads to arrest

A 73-year-old New Canaan man was charged with disorderly conduct after he allegedly pushed a victim in a domestic violence situation.

Police responded to the parking lot of East School on a report of a dispute Sunday evening. Two New Canaan residents were in a minor dispute that escalated when the man pushed the victim, police said.

He was released on a promise to appear.

17-year-old cited for marijuana violation

A 17-year-old was referred to court after he was allegedly caught with a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside a vehicle.

A Putnam Road resident called police to report a suspicious vehicle at the end of his driveway on July 10 around 7 p.m.

Police arrived and found five juveniles in the vehicle and smelled the odor of burnt marijuana, police said.

The driver was asked about the marijuana and he produced it and drug paraphernalia.

He was cited for possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
