Drunken Behavior Leads To Arrest Of 2 NYC Men In New Canaan: Police

The incident occurred Saturday at the New Canaan train station.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A pair of brothers from New York City, who appeared drunk and told police they were in New Canaan to go to their mother's Lakeview Avenue home, allegedly harassed Metro-North passengers on a train and at the New Canaan station Saturday night, which led to their separate arrests, according to police.

Neither Tasheem D. Stephens, 34, nor Eugene W. Jones, 29, were charged in connection with the alleged harassment but on probation violation and drug possession (Stephens) and fugitive from justice (Jones) charges.

Information on the prior cases that led to warrants being issued for both men was not available.

Stephens was held in lieu of a $25,000 bond, and Jones was held in anticipation of being extradited back to New York. Both were scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on June 19.
