Elderly Man Rescued From Icy Pond In New Canaan: PD
The man fell into the icy waters while trying to rescue his dog.
NEW CANAAN, CT — An elderly New Canaan man was rescued from an icy pond off Dan's Highway Thursday afternoon after he fell in the water while trying to retrieve his dog which had fallen through the ice, according to New Canaan police.
The incident occurred at about 2:45 p.m., and the man fell into frigid waist-deep water and became stuck.
Members of the town's police, fire and volunteer ambulance corps responded to the scene and were able to pull him out. Both the man and his dog are fine, added police.
