The Connecticut State Women's Paddle Championship is scheduled for January 20-21, 2010 and will be hosted by The Lake Club in Wilton. This annual tournament has been running for over 25 years and will include a minimum of 32 ladies qualifying teams, including a number of nationally ranked teams. Preliminary matches will be held at several, local tennis and paddle clubs including the Country Club of New Canaan, New Canaan Field Club, Wee Burn Country Club, Wilton Riding Club and The Lake Club. The tournament finals will be held at The Lake Club located at 165 Thayer Pond Road on Wednesday afternoon, 4:00 PM or Thursday morning, 9:00 AM. Spectators are welcome. No admission fee.
In 2008 The Lake Club opened a new state of the art spectator hut and renovated paddle courts which will be used for the tournament. The Lake Club is celebrating its 52nd year as a family oriented swim, tennis and paddle club.
