On Thursday, September 23 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Waveny and Staying Put in New Canaan will partner to host an interactive event on non-surgical joint protection strategies.
The exhibition-style event will feature a variety of interactive workshops that will include information upon joint care, surgical prevention tips, muscle strength improvement and low impact exercise.
"Knowledge about how to avoid surgical procedures is invaluable," said Anne Newton, PT, Director of Rehabilitation Services at Waveny. "This unique event is a special opportunity for the community to learn about ways to care for their joints and themselves. Also, it's a wonderful way for Waveny to celebrate National Rehabilitation Awareness week with the public, which lasts from September 19 through 25."
Interactive event components will include an assortment of kiosk-style exhibits and workshops. Attendees will have the opportunity to trial a variety of joint-strengthening devices and technologies designed to measure one's balance, grip strength and flexibility.
