As part of an ongoing effort to provide value to the community, The Bank of New Canaan will be hosting a seminar themed “Weighing the Facts about Weight Control,” presented by local health and nutrition expert and longtime New Canaan resident, Barbara Schmidt, MS, RD, CD-N. The free seminar will take place at the Bank’s 208 Elm Street offices on Wednesday, June 15th from 6-7 p.m. and the community is invited to attend.
Ms. Schmidt is currently the Nutrition Lifestyle Program Specialist at Norwalk Hospital and has been guiding people toward health, nutrition and the proper diet since 1978. She currently teaches an 8-week health and weight loss program themed “Transformations” at the hospital that focuses on lifestyle, nutrition, behavior modification techniques, exercise, cooking techniques and how to manage “dining out.” The seminar at the Bank will give an overview of the tools that one needs to develop a meal plan tailored to specific food preferences and lifestyle. To RSVP to the seminar at the bank on June 15th, interested parties are asked to call (203) 659-7639.
