New Canaan Girl Scouts Information Session

New Canaan Girl Scouts is pleased to host its first town-wide information and recruitment session at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, October 26 at the United Methodist Church, 165 South Avenue.  Information on scouting will be available for parents and girls in grades Kindergarten through High School – girls can register at any age.  All are welcome to come to this 45 minute event.

New Canaan Girl Scouts opens up a world of activity to girls; currently over 250 scouts are registered in 30 troops.  New Canaan Girl Scouts finished its 2010-11 year with a September campout at Camp Jewell, and then kicked off its year with over 115 scouts attending a campfire Sing-a-Long in Kiwanis Park, hosted by the 8th grade troop 50493.  These two events are closely followed by 7th grade Troop 50327 hosting a Halloween Fun Walk, 1:30 – 5 pm on Sunday October 23 open to the whole town.

Parents looking for a program to build “girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place,” as the Girl Scout Mission states, will find the meeting on Wednesday, October 26 an excellent place to start.
