Ox Ridge Kennel Club Hosts Dog Fun Day at Spencer's Run

Ox Ridge Kennel Club will hold a Dog Fun Day at New Canaan's Waveny Park that is open to purebred and mixed-breed dogs. Rally Games and Canine Good Citizen testing will be available to all interested dogs and their owners.

The American Kennel Club now invites mixed breed dogs as well as purebred dogs  in their dog show events. There will be a chance for dogs to try the Rally Games guided by an experienced trainer and instructor.  Dogs and their owners progress through a series of commands.

There will also be an opportunity for a dog to take the Canine Good Citizen Test.  This is a recognized test that proves your dog is a good citizen rhrough a series of 10 tests. Dogs that pass this test are ready for therapy work and visiting nursing homes, schools and  parks, and is also a first step to high level obedience competition.
A certificate is issued by the American Kennel Club to all dogs that pass.

For both rally and CGC testing, dogs must have a buckle collar, a  6 foot lead and proof of rabies vacination. For CGC please also bring a dog brush.
