
Boating season is here, and The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is offering a “Safe Boating & Personal Watercraft” course on Sat., July 16 to help you get the most out of your summer afloat.
Offered in a convenient one-day format, the course is perfect for new boaters and longtime seafarers who would enjoy a refresher. Topics include safe and correct boating techniques, navigation rules, legal requirements, safety at sea and more. Completion of the course earns participants a safety certificate required by the State of Connecticut for the operator of any motorboat or sailboat over 19 1/2 feet.
The course runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participants can bring a lunch or purchase one in the Aquarium’s cafeteria. (The hour-long lunch break includes the opportunity to explore .)
