Sounds of the night's amphibians will be heard Saturday, April 17, 7:30-9pm as New Canaan Nature Center naturalists guide night hikers to ponds, where the staff will wade in and share their expertise in these nocturnal creatures such as frogs, salamanders and toads.
The amphibians' calls "literally fill the night with a chorus that blankets the woods and meadows," the NCNC Website notes. The public is invited and families are welcome. Hikers can try out night vision goggles and "bionic" ears.
Call to register by April 17. The fee for members is $5; non-members, $8. Children must be comfortable in the dark.
