Firefighters Douse Barn Fire In New Canaan
The nighttime blaze occurred on Sunday, Oct. 22.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Firefighters extinguished a barn fire on South Avenue in New Canaan on Sunday night, Oct. 22, which in the dry breezy conditions sparked four additional small fires, writes the New Canaan Advertiser.
No injuries were reported in the 8 p.m. fire, which destroyed the barn of nearly 1,500 square feet. A portion of South Avenue was closed while firefighters battled the blaze.
The four small, nearby fires - the result of blown embers - were doused quickly before they amounted to anything serious, according to the publication.
