First Selectman Mallozzi Talks About Impact of GE Leaving
New Canaan First Selectman Rob Mallozzi talked about the impact of GE leaving and other issues on WFSB's Face the State.

First Selectman Robert Mallozzi appeared on WFSB’s Face the State to talk about how GE leaving will affect New Canaan and it is a sign that change is needed at the state level.
“We are quite upset about what has happened to our state,” he said on the program, which aired over the weekend and is available online.

Ansonia Mayor David S. Cassetti appeared on the program too.
A number of GE executives including CEO Jeffrey Immelt live in New Canaan, Mallozzi said. He added that the state has become a hindrance to business and that he keeps hearing the need for structural change from business leaders.

On the other end Mallozzi talked about a “grey flight” that is happening in New Canaan and the state where empty nesters who have retired see that their retirement dollars can be stretched more in other states.
