NEW CANAAN, CT — Former New Canaan High School star catcher Curt Casali last week signed a one-year deal with the Cincinnati Reds, MLB.com reports.
The contract will pay $950,000, and the deal allows Casali, 30, to avoid arbitration.
Casali was traded to the Reds by the Tampa Bay Rays last season, and he will serve as a backup catcher behind Reds starting catcher Tucker Barnhart.
