Hazardous Weather Outlook Issued for Connecticut

Mother Nature seemingly can't make up her mind as to whether it's spring or winter lately.

If you're headed out tonight grab a jacket and you may need an extra blanket tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Hazardous Weather Outlook” for the entire state of Connecticut and a “Frost Advisory” and “Freeze Warning” is also in effect for much of the state beginning late tonight and into early Thursday.

A "Freeze Warning" is in effect from midnight to 8 a.m. for all of New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties and a Freeze Warning is also in effect for northern Fairfield County.

The National Weather Services says temps will fall into the upper 20s and lower 30s here and “crops and other sensitive vegetation could be damaged or killed by freezing temperatures.”

For southern Fairfield County, which includes towns on the coastline from Greenwich to Stratford, a “Frost Advisory” is in effect from midnight to 8 a.m. Temps will be in the upper 30s and “sensitive plans could be damaged or killed if not protected or brought inside,” the National Weather Service states.

A “Frost Advisory” is also in effect for Hartford County from midnight until 8 a.m. with temps in the upper 30s and “sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered,” the NWS states.

And for Tolland County, a “Freeze Warning" is in effect from midnight until 8 a.m. Thursday. Temps will fall to around the mid 30s and sensitive vegetation should be covered or brought inside, according to the weather service. Crops and other sensitive vegetation could be killed, the NWS states.

As for the actual forecast for the rest of Wednesday, not too bad, sunshine with temps into the mid to upper 50s and then of course the temps plummet tonight.

On Thursday, rain moves in late at night and continues until early Friday. Temps continue to be in the mid to upper 50s.
