Himes to Meet with New Canaan Residents, Business Owners

The Congressman will visit town on Friday as part of his '17 Towns in 17 Days' tour.

Incumbent three-term U.S. Rep. Jim Himes (D-4) will continue his ‘17 Towns in 17 Days Tour’ in New Canaan on Friday, visiting with residents and local business owners.

During the tour, Himes will gather input from constituents and discuss building a stronger economy, while creating good-paying jobs in Fairfield County.

Himes will attend a coffee hosted by the New Canaan Advertiser from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at the New Canaan Historical Society, 13 Oenoke Ridge.

From 10:30 a.m. until noon, Himes is scheduled to visit three downtown businesses — New Canaan Olive Oil, a specialty oil and food shop that opened last year; Life Aquatic, a fish and custom aquarium store; and The Candy Scoop, a new shop opened by two New Canaan sisters.
