Hit-And-Run Crash Leads To Arrest Of New Canaan Man: Police
The incident occurred on East Avenue near New Norwalk Road on July 13.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 64-year-old New Canaan man was arrested on charges of following too closely and evading responsibility following a July 13 crash on East Avenue near New Norwalk Road, according to New Canaan police. No injuries were reported.
The crash involving John C. Stomber, of Carter Street, occurred at about 8:20 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the area on a "report of a vehicle that was being operated erratically, had struck another vehicle and left the scene." The victim of the crash was able to give police the last known direction and the license plate of the vehicle, which allegedly was driven by Stomber.
Officers went to Stomber's home, and after speaking with him they took him into custody on the above mentioned charges.

Stomber was released after posting a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on July 24.
