Improperly Disposed Ashes Start Fire in New Canaan
Thankfully the garbage can the ashes were put in wasn't inside a garage or building.

The New Canaan Fire Marshal’s office is reminding people to dispose of ashes inside closed metal containers for optimal safety after a garbage can was destroyed.
A early-morning fire Wednesday destroyed a garbage can after ashes were put inside it, according to the New Canaanite. Thankfully it wasn’t inside a building and was at the end of a driveway.
Improperly disposed burning materials have proven deadly in the past. Improperly disposed materials caused a fire that killed three children and two adults in Stamford on Christmas in 2011.
