January Launch Set For New Canaan Tourism/Development Group
And the group keeps expanding before it debuts.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The town's new Tourism and Economic Development Committee, which was officially created on Dec. 17, will debut on Jan. 8 with the announcement of its members, according to First Selectman Kevin Moynihan.
Before its creation, the group grew from a proposed 11 members to 15, but Moynihan told Patch Thursday that the committee has settled on 16 members because of the overwhelming interest from people to join it.
The committee's mission will be to help publicize many of the town's attractions and businesses, which make New Canaan a great place to live, work and have fun.

"It's been a tough choice because we want balance," said Moynihan about deciding who will be on the committee. He has been putting it together with the help of Tucker Murphy, the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce's executive director. "We want representation from a lot of sectors."
Among the groups and industries that will have representatives on the new committee include the Glass House, Grace Farms Foundation, the New Canaan Historical Society, and local realtors, restauranteurs, commercial property owners and retailers, among others.
