The MSNBC pundit and former Congressman spoke at a campaign event in New Canaan over the weekend.

NEW CANAAN, CT — MSNBC pundit and former Congressman Joe Scarborough threw his support behind incumbent First Selectman Rob Mallozzi III and Selectman Nick Williams Friday, as Mallozzi faces a primary challenge for re-election, reports the New Canaan Advertiser.

Scarborough, a New Canaan resident, said during a Mallozzi/Williams campaign kick off event at Williams' home that in the current political climate, experience is a vital factor.

Mallozzi, who is seeking a fourth term, is facing a Republican primary challenge next month from Councilman Kevin Moynihan.
