Judge Rules on Farren's Request to Stay $28m Judgement for Wife

Farren was convicted of attempting to murder his wife in a brutal New Canaan assault.

NEW CANAAN, CT—A Superior Court judge denied John Michael Farren's request to delay his wife from collecting a $28.6 million settlement in connection with his assault that nearly killed her..

Farren's lawyer asked to delay Mary Farren's collection of the judgement until the U.S. Supreme Court appeal is heard, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Farren's request was already denied by a state Appellate Court.

He was convicted for a 2010 domestic assault that left his wife with a broken jaw, broken nose and cuts and bruises across her body. He is serving a 15-year sentence.

Farren is due to be released in 2029. He is currently at the Garner Correctional Institute in Newtown, according to Department of Correction records.
He is known for serving as deputy White House counsel under George W. Bush and also served in a legal capacity under George H.W. Bush.
