K-9 Apollo Finds More Pot

K-9 Apollo earned his paycheck or more likely treats this week after finding marijuana in a vehicle.

An officer was stationary on Oak Shade Road conducting motor vehicle speed enforcement when he noticed a vehicle going 41 mph in a 25 mph zone Sept. 3 shortly before 11 a.m.

The officer detected an odor of burnt marijuana, police said. K-9 Apollo and Officer Rivera were working an extra duty job and came to the scene. Apollo searched the vehicle and found marijuana, police said.

The Stamford female operator was cited for possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and traveling unreasonably fast.

Saw Stolen

A $500 saw was reported stolen from a residential construction site on Kelly Green.

Workers left the site around 4:30 p.m. Sept. 1 and noticed the saw missing the following day. The house under construction didn’t have locks on it.

The Dewalt compound saw was taken from a garage area, police said.
