A locally owned retailer is expected to move into the centrally located space formerly occupied by Dunkin’ Donuts, officials say.
According to Chris Sigg, of William Raveis Real Estate, contracts have gone out to be signed by the new tenant.
A former president of the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce, Sigg when asked about the prospective tenant emphasized that the new business would be local.
“It’s not a franchise, not a national chain,” he said.
Told about the impending move, Tucker Murphy, the chamber’s executive director said she was “thrilled, because this is precisely what we like to think of when we talk about downtown New Canaan.”
New Canaan Patch will have more details on the new occupant at 98 Elm St. as they become available.
