NEW CANAAN, CT- First Selectman Rob Mallozzi questioned whether New Canaan should make a charter change that changes his position's role on the Board of Finance.

The Charter Revision Commission voted in favor of changing the first selectman's role so he would continue to serve as an ex-officio member and cast tie-breaking votes when needed, but wouldn't serve as chairman, according to the New Canaanite.

Mallozzi said the first selectman's role in its relation to the Board of Finance is unique to New Canaan, but that the current system works.
