Man Lies About Gun During DUI Arrest: New Canaan PD

He told officers he was unarmed, according to police.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A Stamford man was arrested after he lied to police about carrying a gun while being arrested for DUI, according to police.

Police stopped Brian Gerard, 51, on April 7 on Old Stamford Road after he was seen driving the wrong way, police said. He said he had no weapons on him while performing a field sobriety test.

During a pat down an officer located a loaded Walter PPKS in a holster. He did have a valid permit for the handgun. He failed the field sobriety test and was arrested.

He was charged with DUI, failure to drive right and carrying a firearm under the influence of alcohol.
