Massachusetts Man Accused Of $80,000 Larceny In New Canaan: PD
The suspect is accused of breaking into a home in New Canaan in July 2017.

NEW CANAAN, CT — A 32-year-old Fall River, MA man was arrested on a warrant by New Canaan police this week in connection with an $80,000 heist from a home in New Canaan in July of 2017, authorities announced.
Joshua M. Schneider was taken into custody and arrested on first-degree burglary and first-degree larceny by New Canaan police investigators on Wednesday. Schneider was being held in the Bristol County Sheriff's Correctional Center in North Dartmouth, MA, on other charges.
The New Canaan case was reported on the night of July 4, 2017, when the homeowners of a residence on Wakeman Road alerted police of the burglary which netted undisclosed items valued at a total of $80,000.

Almost a year later, in April 2018, New Canaan police "were contacted that several items taken during the burglary had been located on eBay and were being sold from a PAWN shop in Fall River, Massachusetts," according to authorities.
"Investigators traveled to the PAWN shop in Fall River, Massachusetts and were able to identify the individual who had sold the items to the PAWN shop as Schneider." New Canaan police soon obtained a warrant for Schneider's arrest.

Additional details about the investigation and how Schneider was developed as a suspect were not disclosed.
Schneider was held in lieu of bail of $100,000 and was scheduled to be arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 5.
