Metro-North Train Catches Fire at Riverside Station

No one was hurt in the incident, but some experienced long delays.

A 5:50 p.m. train from Grand Central Terminal caught fire at the east end of the Riverside Station at about 6:45 p.m. Monday, causing an early-evening delay of as much as 80 minutes for some passengers, Hearst newspapers reported.

There were no injuries, according to WNTH-TV. Passengers who saw and smelled smoke alerted a conductor, who emptied the train at the station. Passengers were given bus rides to Norwalk.
