New Assistant Principal Named For New Canaan Elementary School
New Canaan Public Schools recently appointed Siobhan McCormack as the new assistant principal of South Elementary School.
NEW CANAAN, CT — New Canaan Public Schools announced this week Siobhan McCormack has been appointed the new assistant principal of South Elementary School.
According to a news release provided by the school district, McCormack brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role, having served in various educational leadership capacities throughout her career.
McCormack will replace Zoe Robinson, who was recently appointed principal of East Elementary School in New Canaan. She will officially assume her role as assistant principal on July 1, according to the district.

Superintendent Bryan Luizzi expressed his enthusiasm about McCormack's appointment.
"We are thrilled to welcome Ms. McCormack to the New Canaan Public Schools community," Luizzi said in a news release. "Siobhan's recent experience as an assistant principal, coupled with her exemplary teaching experience, make her the ideal candidate to join our administrative team at South Elementary School."

McCormack joins New Canaan Public Schools from Ox Ridge School in Darien, where she served as the interim assistant principal during the 2023-2024 school year.
Prior to this, McCormack served as a literacy coach at various schools in Fairfield and Westport, and as a classroom teacher for grades 4 and 5 at Riverfield School in Fairfield, according to the district.
"I am honored to join the dedicated team at South Elementary School and to serve the students, families, and staff of New Canaan Public Schools," McCormack said in a news release. "I am looking forward to collaborating with the school community as we continue to build upon the existing strong and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive."
Luizzi also thanked the members of the hiring committee who came together to interview several highly-qualified candidates for the position.
"Our inclusive process included faculty, administrators, the Board of Education, and community members," Luizzi said. "Hiring new professionals to join our district is one of our most important and impactful responsibilities, and every member of the committee approached this work with the thoughtful care this responsibility deserves. Thanks to their efforts, we have identified and hired an exemplary candidate to join our administrative team, and I'm excited for Siobhan to get started!"
