New Canaan Baby Homicide Investigation Hindered by Delayed Stamford Hospital Report: PD
Stamford Police said that the delay put them behind the eight ball.

Editor's note: We previously ran this article, but here it is again in case you missed it.Stamford Hospital reported the death of a New Canaan baby minutes after it happened, but police said that it would've been prudent to alert investigators when the baby came in.
Bella Redondo was rushed to the hospital by ambulance around 3:40 p.m. from the Little Bears Beginnings Daycare in Stamford with signs of head trauma.
Lt. Diedrich Hohn said police should've been notified by about 4:30 p.m. instead of 6:27 p.m. when Bella passed away, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The Office of the Medical Examiner ruled Bella's death a homicide and the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
A spokesman for the hospital said that the main priority of hospital staff is to save a patient's life and that police are notified when the patient doesn't require full attention.
