New Canaan To Begin Second Phase 2023 Revaluation Project

As part of the second phase, Municipal Valuation Services will have data collection personnel assigned throughout the town.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The town of New Canaan is about to commence phase two of the state mandated 2023 revaluation project with the assistance of Municipal Valuations Services, LLC (Munival) of Fairfield, the revaluation company hired to assist the town with the project.

According to a news release provided by the town, Municipal Valuation Services will have data collection personnel assigned throughout the town as part of the second phase, potentially completing double inspections for quality control purposes to ensure quality and accuracy.

Munival will also be inspecting and verifying the percent complete of current building permits in addition to taking exterior photos, inspecting and measuring the exterior and interior of residential and commercial properties. This means residents will continue to see company representatives knocking on taxpayers' doors and asking questions through Oct. 31, according to town officials.

Munival is additionally mailing each residential property owner a data verification letter, which some residents may have already received. This letter contains information specific to residents' property, town officials said.

Town officials ask residents to review the information listed on the form, make any corrections directly to the form and return this form back to Munival for review. Residents may return the form either by mail, email or fax, or drop off at the assessor's office.

All Munival employees will have a town badge and a company badge on their person, along with a signed letter of introduction. They will also have magnets on their vehicles and the company logo on their attire, town officials said.
