A street sign was recovered after two men were seen walking around with it at 2 a.m. Bank tellers foiled a con artist.

Sign thieves stopped by NCPD
Police quickly responded to the area of Richmond Hill Road and Grove Street on August 14 around 2 a.m. after a citizen reported two individuals walking around with a street sign.
An officer arrived on scene and the two men dropped the sign and escaped after running toward Mead Park, police said.

The scene belonged at the intersection of Park Street and Richmond Hill. It was recovered.
Fraudulent Check Passed at Bank of America

Police received a report of a failed attempt to cash a check at the Bank of America on Elm Street August 12.
A man in his early 20’s came into the bank and tried to pass a fraudulent check to one of the tellers, police said.
The teller identified that the check was fraudulent and the individual left the bank without signing a signature card. The check was for $2,100.
