New Canaan BOE: Nonresident Students Not Pushing Classroom Sizes
New Canaan's policy of allowing teacher's kids to attend New Canaan schools isn't pushing the scales, according to the Board of Education.
School officials said that allowing New Canaan teachers’ children to attend school in town isn’t pushing the scales for new teacher hires.
Board of Education Chair Dionna Carlson said that she did an analysis and found there were no additional hires needed due to the policy, according to the New Canaanite.
The issue came up after a town councilman brought up the policy while considering the Saxe Middle School expansion project.
