New Canaan Boys U14 Reds Thump Five Past Ridgefield To Qualify For Play-Offs

New Canaan thrashed Ridgefield 5 – 2 built from a master class in passing. The Reds raced to a 3 – 0 lead inside the first ten minutes with a brace of fine, long range goals from Stephen Curiale and one from Grant Carlson.

The rest of the first half saw New Canaan dominate with good performances from Tim Scranton, Spencer Frye and Henry Baer. In the second half the Reds completed their victory with goals from their prolific striking duo of Sam Rhodes and Grant Carlson assisted from midfield by Kent Williams and Charlie Burns.

As the game came to a close Ridgefield pulled two goals back, but victory was never in question. The Reds can win the play-offs next week if they keep passing as well as they did against Ridgefield.
