WATCH: New Canaan Burglars Caught on Camera Wednesday

The crooks were caught on camera. Two residences were burglarized Wednesday afternoon.:BREAKING

NEW CANAAN, CT—Police are investigating two Wednesday burglaries.

The first burglary occurred around 12:19 p.m. on Birchwood Avenue, said Lt. Jaon Ferraro, police spokesman.

"The homeowner was alerted via his video surveillance system that a person was at his house," he said. "It was at that time that the homeowner viewed the 2 suspects force entry into his home through a rear door."

The homeowner called 911 and police were dispatched. The suspects fled in a white four-door hatchback Subaru Impreza with a missing front license plate.

The second burglary was reported around 2:18 p.m. on Old Norwalk Road. Entry was made through an unlocked door.

Jewelry and other items were taken.
