New Canaan Considers Extending CFO's Contract

Sandra Dennies was initially hired for a two-month assignment.

NEW CANAAN, CT — The Board of Selectman on Tuesday is scheduled to consider extending the contact of Sandra Dennies, hired this past spring as New Canaan's interim Chief Financial Officer, an additional four months.

Dennies is the former CFO for Wilton, and she was tapped initially by New Canaan for a two-month assignment.

The selectmen are now considering extending that contract for an additional four months to run through the end of the year, according to the agenda for Tuesday's board meeting.

New Canaan was scheduled to post the permanent CFO job which carries an annual salary of at least $150,000. The status of the position is not immediately known, but Dennies was expected to be a candidate for the post.

In other matters, the Board of Selectmen Tuesday will also consider entering into an annual contract with Accume Partners, for a sum not to exceed $120,000 a year, to outsource the town's internal audit services.

Tuesday's Board of Selectmen meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Aug. 22 in the Meeting Room of New Canaan Town Hall.
