New Canaan Cops Bust Up Underage Drinking Party, Arrest Teen

The incident occurred Friday night on Colonial Road.

NEW CANAAN, CT — An 18-year-old New Canaan resident was arrested on illegal alcohol-related charges Friday night after police said more than 60 juveniles were caught drinking in the basement of the teenager's Colonial Road home.

Officers were called to the home at about 10 p.m. on a noise complaint and found five teens outside of the home and in the garage.

One of those teens was David M. Cochran, who lives at the home. He told officers that "he was having a get together with 5-6 friends," but officers found about 60 juveniles partying in the basement, with "dozens of beer cans and liquor bottles" strewn throughout the room.
